What this site is
PrivacyComply is an independent editorial site covering data-privacy compliance tools — cookie consent banners, GDPR and CCPA software, and privacy policy generators. We publish in-depth comparisons and reviews for the people who actually have to ship a website and need a clear answer faster than reading 99 articles of regulatory text.
The site is reader-supported. We earn affiliate commissions on some outbound vendor links; we never accept paid placement, paid rankings, or sponsored reviews. See the affiliate disclosure below for the full list of vendors and how rankings are kept independent of commission size.
What we run first-hand
PrivacyComply practises what it covers. The compliance stack on this site is:
- Cookie banner & consent database: iubenda Privacy Controls and Cookie Solution. The banner you see in the corner is iubenda's, and every consent event is logged to iubenda's Consent Database.
- Privacy policy, cookie policy, terms & conditions: Generated and hosted by iubenda. The authoritative versions live at privacy-policy.html, cookie-policy.html, and terms.html.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation, loaded only after consent.
- Hosting & framework: Astro static site deployed via GitHub Actions.
This means when we cover iubenda, we cover a vendor we actually use day-to-day — pricing, dashboard quirks, consent log behaviour, and policy-update propagation all reflect real operating experience. Where we don't run a tool ourselves, we say so on the relevant page.
How we evaluate tools
Every comparison and review on PrivacyComply is built from three signals, in order of weight:
- Hands-on use where we have it. iubenda is the clearest example — it runs this site, so iubenda assessments reflect real operating experience rather than vendor copy.
- Vendor documentation, pricing pages, and changelogs. We read every tier carefully so the comparison reflects what's actually included, not what's marketed on the landing page.
- Independent reporting and verified-user reviews. G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, Reddit (r/SaaS, r/smallbusiness, r/gdpr), and Product Hunt threads. Verified-user reviews are weighted higher than vendor case studies.
For the full evaluation framework — what we score, how we weight, when we update — see the methodology page.
Where we have not personally deployed a tool, the page says so in the opening note. Reviews are re-checked at least quarterly because compliance vendors change pricing and features often.
Affiliate disclosure
PrivacyComply is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links: if you click through and sign up for a paid plan, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This is how the site funds itself; we do not run on-page advertising and we do not accept sponsored content.
We currently have or are pursuing affiliate relationships with:
- CookieYes — recurring commission program
- iubenda — referral commission program
- Termly — referral commission program
- Osano — referral partner program (where available)
Our editorial integrity rules:
- Commission size never influences ranking. The ordering of "best tool" comparisons is based purely on the methodology above.
- We will not recommend a product we wouldn't deploy on a site we run.
- Every page that includes affiliate links carries a visible disclosure at the top of the page, not buried in a footer.
- If a tool changes for the worse — pricing hikes, feature removal, support degradation — we will say so even when it costs us commission.
Privacy policy
Our full privacy policy is on a dedicated page: PrivacyComply Privacy Policy. Short version: standard Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation, iubenda cookie banner, no selling visitor data, no third-party advertising networks. Privacy requests: privacy@privacycomply.io.
Editorial corrections
If you find a factual error in any of our reviews or guides, email corrections@privacycomply.io. We re-publish with a date-stamped correction note at the top of the affected article, and we credit the reader who flagged it (unless they prefer to remain anonymous).
What we don't do
- We do not give legal advice. Our guides explain the law in plain language so you can make informed decisions; for a compliance audit or a specific legal situation, hire a qualified data-protection lawyer in your jurisdiction.
- We do not accept paid placement in our "best of" rankings. The ordering reflects our evaluation, not vendor relationships.
- We do not write fake reviews. Every product we cover is one we've either deployed ourselves or one whose coverage is based on vendor documentation and verified-user reviews — and the relevant page tells you which.
